Are you ready to up your candy-making skills? Want to dig deeper than learning a few new recipes? Why not consider taking one of our candy science classes?

These are not your regular candy-making classes! Yes, you’ll learn a couple of recipes. But, more importantly, you’ll learn why you have to do what you have to do when making candy. This sets you up for success in making a wide variety of candy. By the end, you’ll know why measuring temperature is so crucial, how to (not) crystallize sugar, and more.

  • Explain why you need to take certain steps to make candy
  • Help you understand the role of the ingredients in your candy
  • Cover a range of sugar candies, such as caramels, fudges and marshmallows.

Note, these courses do NOT focus on chocolate candy.

Flagship candy science course

Want to go all in? Then we’d recommend taking our core candy science course.

In this self-paced online class, we discuss all the core concepts that you need to know to make and understand candy. We dive deep into the role of sugar, explain how to control the size of your sugar crystals, and much more (see full course content here).

Along the way, there are plenty of ways for you to test and apply your knowledge. Each section of theory ends with a quiz. Also, we have come up with plenty of ‘lab exercises‘ to apply your knowledge. In these exercises, you’ll be making different styles of ice cream and doing some simple experiments. We believe that ‘doing’ is the best way to learn, though none of them are compulsory.

Fudge Making Class

Want a sneak peek? Why not watch the recording of our live fudge making class? During this 1,5 hour class, we made fudge together while discussing the science behind it all.

In this recorded live class we discuss all the core concepts that you need to know to make and understand fudge. We dive deep into the role of sugar, explain how to control the size of your sugar crystals, and more, all while keeping the application in mind.

If you’re limited for time, or just want a one-off weekend or evening activity, this might be the one for you!
