🍬September-2023 Class 🍬
Welcome to the course! During the month of September, we’ll be organizing a few extra pieces of interaction to help you get the most out of the class. Here you’ll find information to get you started.
Note that, regardless of when you signed up, whether that was last month, or over a year ago, you can join the September-2023 class! We keep the course open for all our previous students and you’re always welcome to join the new ‘live’ session.
Community
During the month of September, we’ve got an online community, hosted on Slack. Here we’ll host our live Q&A’s, give additional updates and this will be a place to connect with other students! It’s one of the benefits of taking the course ‘live’.
Signing up is simple (and of course free, it’s part of the course). Just follow this link (expires Sep-30th-2023). If you have trouble signing up, send a note to courses@foodcrumbles.com and we’ll help you out.
By clicking the link, you’ll get the following screen. Use whichever email account you want, there is no need to use a work email, you can use the one that works best for you. If you already have a Slack account, you won’t need to make a new one, you can just add the FoodCrumbles one to your existing account.

Once you’re in, you’ll find 3 channels on your left-hand side (see photo below). Why don’t you start by introducing yourself in the ‘general channel? We’ll give updates about live events in the ‘events’ channel and you can sure results from all your hard work in the kitchen in the ‘lab-exercises’ channel. Hope to see you there!

Just so you know, we will keep the community live for at least another month after September, but won’t be there as frequently after September.
Live events
In September we’ll have 2 live classes and several live Q&A sessions. Make sure you write down the dates in your calendar:
Live classes
During these classes, we’ll be making candy together.
- September 13th – 10 am (CEST, Amsterdam time zone)
- September 27th – 5 pm (CEST, Amsterdam time zone)
All live classes will take place at: https://whereby.com/foodcrumbles. This link works in any browser and you do not need to install anything to take part.
Note that all classes will be recorded so you’ll have access afterwards and you can continue to ask questions about the content we discuss in each class. We have students joining from all over the world, these times ensure everyone should be able to join at least one class live during their waking hours.
Q&A sessions
During these 30-minute live online Q&A sessions you can ask all your questions, whether it’s about content of the course, or a technical question on accessing the course itself.
- September 6th – 8.30 pm (CEST, Amsterdam time zone)
- September 8th – 10 am (CEST, Amsterdam time zone)
- September 22nd – 10 am (CEST, Amsterdam time zone)
- September 22nd – 8.30 pm (CEST, Amsterdam time zone)
These classes are hosted in Slack. They’ll be a live chat session, depending on who joins and the types of questions we get, we might switch some parts to a video session, if we do, you’ll find the details in Slack. Know that unlike the ‘live classes’ there’s no agenda, you can hop on and hop off during the 30 minutes and it’s not a problem if you join a little later.
Questions?
During the course, reach out through our Slack channels for questions about the course content. For technical questions about your account, or questions you can’t/don’t want to ask through Slack, send an e-mail to courses@foodcrumbles.com.
